Reviving some of your previous posts can be a tricky proposition since many people prefer fresh content but it does have its place. I have 1400 followers and know that 99% of them did not see my tweet or just didn’t pay enough attention to it when I originally tweeted it. So I thought to myself, “Why not retweet it and see what happens?”. I have done this several times with different posts from both of my blogs and have received additional clicks as evident by my URL shortening service statistics. However I must tell you that I did receive a DM from one of my followers telling me that I already tweeted that post 4 days earlier. This was bad for obvious reasons but also good because it showed me that people are reading my tweets and when I say reading I actually mean reading it and remembering it!

I have also been using my post URLs when I comment on other blogs. In one of my recent posts  about linking to other blogs, I briefly mentioned this tactic. In addition to your most recent post, you can use a previous post URL. What this will do for you is not only revive a previous post but also help you create “deep” links (an SEO benefit).  The only problem with this tactic that I see is this; people may delete your comment because once they see the long link, they may think your are spamming. Hopefully this does not happen to you but it certainly may.

Be careful and do not over do it. Wisely choose which posts you want to revive. Give it a try and let me know how it works out.

Please feel free to Retweet and/or share this post if you find the information useful.
